The family of Erika Binder sorrowfully announces the death of a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Erika's memory will be cherished by her loving family, her daughter, Frances Slubik and her son Earl Binder (Linda.) Erika's memory will survive in her beloved grandchildren; Matthew Slubik, Krista Slubik, Jessica Mohan, and Karla Wolbeck. Erika had a passion for teaching from an early age. She became an excellent teacher and taught for over 31 years.
She had a positive impact on many of her students. One of her finest English students was a young Austrian named Franz Binder. They later married and enjoyed fifty loving years together. Erika was passionate about gardening, writing, baking and caring for her family. She especially enjoyed organizing family dinners and parties and the times spent in Barrhead. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so prior to the funeral service which will be held on Saturday, September 13 at 1:00 P.M. at South Side Memorial Chapel (8310-104 Street) with internment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Erika may be made to the charity of one's choice.
